Breakout Sessions: Ask for Help

While in a breakout, participants can now ask for help from a moderator via the roster. Moderators receive a notification and an easy one-click route to join and assist.

Multiple Language Transcription

Available in June

In addition to English, transcripts and closed captions will now be available in German, French, Spanish, and Japanese meetings. By default, the meeting language will be the user's BlueJeans Profile Language.  At the time of scheduling, the meeting organizer will have the option to modify the meeting language.

Foldable Device Support

When foldable devices are flexed, the video tiles or screen receiver would move to top half and call controls and other settings will move to the tabletop section.

Low Bandwidth Preference

Users can now set their preferences to auto switch to Low Bandwidth Mode to save mobile data and improve audio quality when on a cellular network. Setting the preference automatically switches the user to Low Bandwidth mode when on a cellular network.

Attendee Promotion in Events

Attendees can now request to interact live in BlueJeans Events. Once a request is accepted by the Event Moderator, they can use audio and video in the Event.

Users can now choose between the mobile phone screen and DeX screen while performing screen share.

Presenters and Moderators can now turn on a virtual background and upload their own background image or choose from the BlueJeans default images to serve as their background. Enterprise Administrators will also have the ability to control the default background images available to the enterprise users.

Event Recording viewers can now view English automated closed captions on their recordings.  For an event enabled with closed captions, the captioning service will now be available to the attendees during both the live and the recorded session.

Customers joining Teams Meetings with BlueJeans Gateway enabled room systems will be able to see notifications of users waiting in the lobby. Customers can then allow the users waiting in lobby into the meetings from their Teams desktop/mobile client.

Based on the Meeting Roles set in Meetings Options, BlueJeans Gateway for Teams will now support preventing certain attendees from presenting/sharing during Teams Meeting.

Available Now

Customer admins will now be able to get a holistic overview of the Teams Meeting experience with Teams Gateway enabled room systems with the support of VTC Call Quality Scores for Live and Past Meetings along with support for searching VTC names on the Command Center Dashboard as well support for content call data in the History tab.

Call Quality Score is an indicative score generated by the BlueJeans Gateway backend after considering quality parameters of audio and video like jitter buffer, packet loss, etc. This score provides indicative meeting experience feedback of users joining meetings on Gateway enabled room systems.

Targeted for Release: Early July

BlueJeans Gateway will support display of Raised Hand Notifications. Customers joining Teams Meetings with BlueJeans Gateway for Teams enabled room systems will be able to see notification banners of users who have raised hands and as well as see the number of raised hands in that meeting on top right corner. Note: Customers will not be allowed to raise hands from VTCs. More details can be found here.

BlueJeans has released another update to its Web Client SDK, which include Moderation capabilities along with much awaited enhancement on joining a meeting without refreshing the web page.

‘ModeratorControlsService’ introduced -

• Meetings recording

• Mute/Un-Mute Audio/Video of other participants / all participants

• Remove a participant from the meeting

• End meeting for all immediately or after a certain delay

• Spotlight a video participant

Along with above changed, BlueJeans released “breaking” change where connection state “DISCONNECTED” has been removed from MeetingService. This was necessary for BlueJeans to release enhancement of allowing SDK developers to provide their customers that ability to join meetings without page refresh.

• Since you can now rejoin meetings, Connection state goes to IDLE once meeting ends. Please refer to the connection state flow chart in our README.md
