A letter from our CEO Quentin Gallivan, and Co-Founders, Krish Ramakrishnan and Alagu Periyannan
Today we are excited to announce that BlueJeans has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Verizon, where we will become a part of the $30B Verizon Business team. This agreement will be excellent news for BlueJeans customers, partners and employees, as we expand our capacity to innovate our products, grow our customer coverage, and take our trusted platform to the next level on top of Verizon’s world-class networks.
Accelerating Product Innovation
As this current work-from-home era has shown us, having secure, reliable and high-quality collaboration tools like BlueJeans is essential to the productivity of any organization. By combining our trusted enterprise-grade video conferencing platform with Verizon’s high-performance global networks and 5G innovation, we will be able to accelerate product development to innovate secure and immersive collaboration experiences for our customers. In addition, we will be able to leverage the R&D of both companies to create compelling innovations to enhance our offering in use cases like telemedicine, distance learning and field service.
A World Class Team to Serve Customers
BlueJeans customers tell us they appreciate the levels of service and long-standing relationships they have with our Global Customer Care team, and the access to our Product and Engineering teams. The good news is that is not changing as BlueJeans founders and key management team will join Verizon to lead the continued growth and innovation of the business. BlueJeans employees will become Verizon employees immediately following the close of the deal. Taking care of both our customers and employees has been top of mind for us and for Verizon’s leadership team as we’ve prepared for this event.
Continued Investment in our Partner Ecosystem
BlueJeans partners have helped build us into the company we are today. Our channel partners bring a wealth of AV and UC knowledge and we value their knowledge and customer relationships. The good news is, existing BlueJeans partners may continue to resell BlueJeans solutions. We embrace customer choice and recognize end customers may have their preferred providers and integrators and we will continue to work with partners to meet the needs of our joint customers. Beyond the channel, our technology partnerships extend the BlueJeans platform to make customer use cases better, whether it be through software integrations that make workflows seamless, or through the hardware integrations that make people’s video conferences better across conference rooms, huddle spaces and mobile devices. We will continue to work with our technology partners to deliver the best video experiences.
We invite you to read more about the agreement in Verizon’s press release and look forward to continuing to bring you great products and service!
