How long have you been with BlueJeans/Verizon?
2 years with BlueJeans. (Almost) 8 years with Verizon.

How have your unique experiences and insights made you successful in your career?
I look at my career as a collection of experiences and lessons. I worked at some of the biggest and most awarded advertising agencies in the world, before joining Verizon, where I was inspired by some of the world's most creative minds. I started at VZ leading creative marketing for practically every consumer initiative including network superiority, the holiday campaign, our sports and entertainment partnerships with the NFL, NBA, Apple, and Disney, and too many device launches to admit. From there I went to consumer product marketing before joining BlueJeans. Very different roles, and very different challenges but all surrounded by the most creative, inspiring, and innovative minds in marketing and product development. There’s not a day that passes that I don’t recall a lesson learned along the way and it’s through that collection of experiences that I evolved my own style as a marketer, as a cross-org partner, and as a leader.

What do you enjoy about working at BlueJeans/Verizon?
The team and the culture that we have built together. Our spirit and our passion to transform the business, the industry, and the customers that we serve.  Nobody can beat that.

Who/what are some of your biggest inspirations within the company?
Hands down my marketing team. I am inspired by their spirit, their hunger, their ideas, and their always can-do attitude. After them, it’s definitely been Diego Scotti, Angie Klein, Di Zaccardi, and Jen McCarthy. I was lucky to have them as my mentors at various points in my Verizon career and I learned so much from each of them - especially that leadership is about taking care of those in your charge. They inspired me to be a better advocate for marketing and creativity (the true oxygen to growth!), to be a more passionate and compassionate leader, and encouraged me to always fight for the narrative across the org, not just your function.

Which benefits are your favorite and why?
Anything health and fitness-related gets me hooked!

What’s the most unique part about working here?
The amount of innovation and good that comes from this company. We really are making a positive impact on society and culture.

What's something most people don't know about you?
Aside from the whole artist bit? Many years ago I dunked on Leonardo DiCaprio in a pick-up basketball game.

If you could go back in time and tell the 16-year-old version of you something what would it be?
Think about your career differently – it's not going to be a continual chain of succession. You are going to have to look at it as a collection of experiences as opposed to what category you want to work in, or which marketing roles you want to focus on. It will serve you so much better in pursuing your passion and becoming a better leader! Oh, and take out that stupid earring in your ear!!

How do you handle difficult or challenging days?
Take a step back and breathe. I’m also lucky that I have an amazing team that is just as personally supportive of each other as we are professionally.

Any words of advice or a favorite quote you would like to share with us?
"There is no defense, but stupidity, against the creation of a new idea." That quote has served as a constant reminder to me, since high school, that there is nothing that can stand in the way of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
